LOOKING IN TO THE WORLD OF CUSTOM BUILT
COMANCHES
I have been involved in restoring Comanche 250's
since 1990. I own a Classic Car Restoration facility
in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 1990 I purchased my first Comanche 250. I fell in love with the
airplane. It has a great usefull load with an almost square envelope and
the ability to put 250 pounds in the baggage compartment. It climbs at about
1200 feet per minute and cruises at 160 kts on 13 gallons of fuel.
I began completely restoring this airplane by stripping the paint completely.
I took advantage of Piper's choice of zinc chromating which prevents corrosion
from occurring on this airplane.
I Custom painted the airplane, replace the interior and made a new center
stack aluminum panel. I incorporated the 260 gear mod to make this a very
fast Comanche 250.
Since then I have rebuilt a number of Comanche 250's mainly as a hobby and
as a way to make extra money.
I currently have two Comanche 250's process and am working on two others.
I decided that with the high cost of a new airplane that a restored custom
aircraft with the latest avionics, engine monitoring systems and updated
gear mods could provide a good as new airplane for substantially less money.
Check the links for each of my airplanes. The introductory page is in text
so that you can get the most information as fast as possible. Photos of the
inside and outside of each airplane are linked. Please be aware that it will
take time for these to load, and the quality of the photo and the speed of
loading were balanced to provide the most information without wasting your
time. For more info you can call us or e-mail us. |
